What to expect after your tests — and how we’ll keep you informed.
Waiting for results can be stressful — but we’re here to ensure the process is smooth, confidential, and clearly communicated. This page outlines how we handle pathology, imaging, and other test results, and what you need to know once your tests have been completed.
How Test Results Are Managed
Your test results are reviewed by your doctor as soon as they arrive. Based on your individual situation, your GP may:
Request a follow-up appointment to discuss results in detail
Notify you if no further action is needed
Contact you via phone or SMS if urgent follow-up is required
Please note: reception staff cannot provide test results for privacy and legal reasons.
Follow-up appointments, either in-person or by phone, are not routinely bulk-billed. The doctor may levy another fee based on complexity and time taken to interpret and discuss results.


Why Appointments Are Important for Some Results
Some results may seem minor but require a professional explanation or a change in treatment. A follow-up consultation allows your GP to:
Explain your results clearly
Answer questions and discuss next steps
Adjust medications if needed
Provide appropriate referrals or repeat testing
Do I Need to Call the Clinic?
In most cases, you do not need to call us for your results. If follow-up is necessary, our team will contact you. However, if you haven’t heard from us within the expected timeframe advised by your GP (usually 2–5 business days), we recommend giving us a call to follow up
